What is your biggest concern with the elections?
My biggest concern with the elections is that the voting systems
do not work for me again as they did not when I ran for State Assembly in 2000. The switch did not want to go down for
me unless I voted for a democratic candidate for state senate or just left if blank. The male I asked for assistance
moved my switch to a democratic vote but I told him I did not want to do that so I told him I'll just leave the state senate
vote blank because there were people waiting behind me and I didn't want any attention. It worked the other way around
also. If I left the Assemblyman blank or voted democrat then I could vote for a non-democrat in the state senate
row but I wanted to vote for myself. Months before that incident I was in the NYC board of elections with Al "Grandpa"
Lewis requesting new machines. I called a Green in regards to my incident and he said that that machine would be
closed down and similar incidents were occuring through out. Not only my biggest concern that was my biggest
regret as well.
Eventhough I was 19 I should have stood up for my democratic right.
Too many people fought and died for me to have it. Democracy was not served but all too often democracy does not serve
itself unless someone upholds it.
